Can we just talk about this scene? It’s just at the beginning of the episode and it shows that her wall is gone and that she’s ready to be with him before everything else. She just found out this might be about her mother’s case and she wants him to comfort her and she just tells him. She actually uses her words.
especially since Castle’s explanations are usually so goofy. back in the first three seasons (and even season 4) Beckett would shoot down his playful ideas for something logical instead. and now she’s sort of asking him to lighten the mood. because even Beckett said it, “it’s a hard job” and it needs humor or else you can get too caught up in the badness of it all. they’ve both changed so much, it’s perfect.
